Library Board of Trustees Meeting Monday, September 8th at 7:00pm, BSAC at 6:15 pm
We’re thrilled to announce that we are one of 55 libraries selected for the 2025 Sustainable & Resilient New England Libraries Grant, made possible through the continued support of The Manton Foundation.
These small and rural libraries across Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont will receive funding to support critical infrastructure improvements and community-centered initiatives that strengthen their ability to serve and adapt.
We're grateful to The Manton Foundation for its ongoing commitment to small and rural libraries, and we look forward to seeing the impact these 2025 projects will have across New England.

1000 Books Before Kindergarten
"The concept is simple, the rewards are priceless. Read a book (any book) to your newborn, infant, and/or toddler. The goal is to have read 1,000 books (yes you can repeat books) before your precious one starts kindergarten. Does it sound hard? Not really if you think about it. If you read just 1 book a night, you will have read about 365 books in a year. That is 730 books in two years and 1,095 books in three years. If you consider that most children start kindergarten at around 5 years of age, you have more time than you think (so get started). "Copyright © 2013 - 2024. 1000 Books Foundation.
